Tony Ward
Head of Paramedicine & Perioperative Practice, AUT University

Tony commenced employment at AUT in 2012 within the Department of Paramedicine, as the Programme Leader and over the past 7 years has been the Head of Discipline in Paramedicine and Military education in NZ.  He also lectures across the Postgraduate curriculum with interests in Aeromedicine, Critical Care and Extended Care Paramedicine.

In 2021 Tony took responsibility for leading the Anaesthetic Technician change process from the vocationally trained Diploma model into the newly formed BHSc in Perioperative Practice programme. 

He is a practicing Critical Care Paramedic and continues to advocate for best practice clinical health outcomes for all New Zealanders.
